About the Centre

The establishment of the Tamil Nadu Open University by an Act of the Legislative Assembly of the Government of Tamil Nadu in 2002, the academic activities began in 2003. As per the G.O.No.100 of Tamil Nadu Government, dated 26.04.2017, the Villupuram Regional centre was established at Villupuram. Villupuram Regional Centre is catering academic services to the learner’s community under the jurisdiction of three districts: Villupuram, Cuddalore and Kallakurchi. Villupuram Regional Centre and Constituent Community College function in its own building, which was inaugurated on 09.09.2020.

Activities

To monitor and support to the Study Centres such as pre-admission counseling, admission status, Issue of ID card distribution, SLM status, conducting Academic Counselling Classes, submission of assignments, and post-admission support.
To handle the students and Study Centres grievances for smooth functioning by providing adequate academic supports to them.
To indulge in promotional activities to take off TNOU programmes.
To act in bridging learners support services activities between the Student Support Services Divisions and Villupuram Regional Centre.
To enhance admission through making awareness among the workers in the industry area and academy.
To impart academic and career counseling to potential learners.
To facilitate to the admission-related process under the jurisdiction of Villupuram Regional Centre.
To look after all other academic support services to the learner.
