Counselling Sessions
-
Counselling sessions are
meant for personal advice/guidance and academic tutoring. No formal
teaching, as it has obtained today, is done.
-
Counselling sessions are
conducted through Learning Resource Centres.
-
Attendance to counselling
sessions is optional.
-
Making attendance to
counselling sessions mandatory or allocating a certain weight to
attendance for internal/final assessment will not only impinge on learner
autonomy but also is a violation of the philosophy of open distance
learning (ODL).
-
ODL leaves the onus of
learning on the learner. ODL makes available all possible facilities and
leaves the learner to decide which one to choose.
-
Course requirements will
determine session timings, duration, frequency, etc., as against the
hitherto practice of allocating a certain number of counselling sessions
to all the Courses.
