Admission to B.Ed. Programme

Eligibility Criteria

 i)     Educational qualification

        In-service teachers with a Bachelor’s degree in Tamil/ English/ Mathematics/ Physics/ Chemistry/Zoology/Botany/History /Geography/ Computer Science or a Post- Graduate degree in Economics/Commerce/Home Science.  

with 

ii)    Teaching Experience

         At least 2 years of teaching experience serving in Schools in Tamil Nadu (Nursery/ Primary/ Secondary/ Higher Secondary/ Matriculation Schools) recognised by the Government of Tamil Nadu / Government of India alone are eligible to apply. AND, admission will be done based on the score obtained by the candidate in the Entrance Examination conducted by the TNOU all over Tamil Nadu.

Reservation of seats for candidates belonging to SC/ST, MBC/DNC, BC, OC communities and handicapped (both physical and visual) will be made as per the rules and regulations of Government of Tamil Nadu given below:

In case, enough candidates are not available in the reserved category, the seats will be allotted to Open Category.

The Southern Regional Committee of National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bangalore has permitted an annual intake of 500 in-service teachers as students. (Permission order No: F.TN/B.Ed.(DE)/166/SRO/NCTE/2004-2005/8070 Dt.21.10.2004.)
