Lateral (Flexible) Entry/Dual Registration

  • Persons who have discontinued their studies for various reasons can approach TNOU to carry forward the credits they may have accumulated earlier and complete the Programme.

  • Appropriate authorities of the University will screen the lateral entry applications on a case-by-case basis, ascertaining the equivalence of the syllabi, etc., before a decision regarding registration is made.

  • Persons holding a Bachelor’s degree and have completed Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA) will be exempted from the first year of the University’s Master of Computer Applications (MCA).

  • Persons holding a Diploma in Computer Applications will be exempted from the first year of the University’s Bachelor’s in Computer Applications (BCA).

  • Persons holding Diploma in Commercial Practice (from a recognized Polytechnic) will be exempted from the first year of the University’s Bachelor’s in Commerce (B.Com).

  • Persons who have completed 10 years of schooling and a three year diploma are exempted from the University’s Bachelor’s Preparatory Programme (BPP).

  • On-campus students can simultaneously pursue a Programme at the TNOU, if they satisfy the eligibility criteria.

  • Persons can opt for two Programmes at TNOU. However, the University is not liable for any clashes in examination/counselling schedules. In other words, though provisions are available for dual entry, students should use their discretion.

  • Until the applications for later entry and dual registration are cleared in all respects, the candidates will be provided with provisional admissions.

  • Suppose such applications do not succeed, the candidates will be refunded the fees paid, after deducting nominal administrative charges.
