Student Scholarships
-
Government
scholarships available for on-campus students will be available to TNOU
students as well.
-
Candidates have to
apply to the TNOU on the prescribed application forms, obtained from the
relevant welfare departments, along with all the necessary documents. The
University will approach the welfare departments concerned for further
processing.
-
TNOU is the only
institution in Tamil Nadu eligible for accessing the scholarships
available through the South Asian Foundation (SAF). In other words, TNOU
students are the only students in Tamil Nadu to get this scholarship worth
Rs. 13, 500 each. The details of the scholarship have already been sent to
all the Centres.
-
Note that only those
students, who are below 30 years of age, currently pursue a PG programme
or a vocational programme at TNOU and whose family annual income is less
than Rs. 1.20 lakhs are eligible for the scholarship. The last date for
the submission of application for the scholarship in the prescribed form
is over for the current year.
-
Note
also that students have to register with the SAF to become eligible for
the scholarship. Registration with the SAF involves signing the following
pledge: “A dynamic South Asian culture of peace and democracy can emerge
only through promotion of regional cooperation, nourished with the energy
and idealism of youth.”
