Learning Materials

  • The course materials of TNOU are self-learning in nature, encouraging independent learning, i.e., learning without the live presence of a teacher.

  • Given that TNOU is barely 2 years young, it has to initially depend on other established dual-mode institutions for learning materials for some its Programmes. Among others, this has resulted in tardy and/or faulty despatches. Materials for many Programmes are now being developed in-house. The problems associated with learning materials can henceforth be ably addressed. Plans are in train to distribute learning materials (along with the associated assignment questions and model examination question papers/patterns) at the time of registration.

  • The sheer size of the booklets posed some problems in terms of handling (identifying, packing, etc.). Learning from the past, it is decided to get the materials printed in a reasonable size. It is expected that this will facilitate easy handling.

  • All the Learning Resource Centres will have a sample copy of a part of learning materials.
