Dr. S.Vijayan is Professor and Head, School of Politics and Public Administration, Tamil Nadu Open University, Chennai, after having served for two years as Professor and Head, School of Social Sciences, Tamil Nadu Open University Since October 2006. Dr.S.Vijayan had earlier taught and researched in Political Science and Public Administration in Presidency College for over 25 years and has extensive research experience. He had been able to guide and facilitate the award of Ph.D to eight candidates and several pre-doctoral candidates. Dr.S.Vijayan had his academic and research training with the University of Madras in Public Administration with his Post-graduate studies in Presidency College and his pre-doctoral M.Phil Degree from Madras Christian College and B.L. Degree from Madras Law College. He was awarded his Ph.D in Development Administration from the University of Madras. Besides his primary field of academic training and research, Dr.S.Vijayan has post-graduate Degrees with a MBA in Human Resource Management; a Degree in Personnel Management and Labour Laws.
Dr.S.Vijayan had served as Member, Board of Studies in Public
Administration in several Universities including University of Madras,
Madurai Kamaraj, Annamalai and Bharathiar Universities. He has served as
Expert Member in the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission and in the
Selection Committee of the Teachers Recruitment Board of Government
College Lecturers in Political Science and Public Administration. |
