Profile of Dr. N. Dhanalakshmi Graduated in History from Stella Maris College, Chennai, Dr. N. Dhanalakshmi did her post-graduation in History at the Loyola College, Chennai. Her Ph. D. is from the University of Madras for topic “The History of Roman Catholic Missionaries and the Welfare Activities from 1850 to 1950 AD”. She also holds B. Ed (Special Education in Mental Retardation). Dr. N. Dhanalakshmi served as a guest lecturer in various Govt. Colleges and Lecturer in Ethiraj College, Chennai. In 2004, she joined TNOU as Lecturer in History. Dr. N. Dhanalakshmi has written many books and published several articles in national and international journals on topics related to History, Tourism, Women’s Issues, Missionary service to the society and differently-abled people through Open Distance Learning. Dr. N. Dhanalakshmi has more than 10 years of teaching experience, both at the UG and PG levels. Dr. N. Dhanalakshmi has guided more than 45 M. Phil candidates from various Universities including TNOU. Currently she is guiding Ph. D candidates. She also guides candidates for their Tourism Projects. Dr. N. Dhanalakshmi is a member in the Boards of Studies and External Examiner for M. Phil. candidates of various Universities, Govt. and Aided Colleges. She was the Chairperson for the “Women in Science and Technology” conference organized by the Govt. Arts College, Thiruvannamalai, sponsored by the Tamil Nadu State Council for Higher Education. She is a Life Member and Executive Member in Tamil Nadu History Congress and Member in several Professional Organisations. Dr. N. Dhanalakshmi was an athlete during her School and College days and she has won several laurels for long distance race. |
