Eligibility for Admission
Credit System The University follows the ‘Credit system’ for this programme. One credit in this system is equivalent to 30 hours of student study hours comprising all learning activities (i.e.attending counselling sessions and reading and comprehending the print materials). This helps the learner to understand the academic effort one has to put in to successfully complete a course. Completion of the Dgree Programme requires sucessful clearing of the term-end examination of each course in this programme. Programme Delivery Four hours of teaching (counselling) session in a week per course will be conducted in the respective institution where the candidates are undergoing their Diploma programme. In addition Print Material in Self Learning Material format will be supplied to the candidate for effective and easy learning. The Term-End Examinations The candidates have to under take the Term-End Examinations of Tamil Nadu Open University Courses along with the examinations conducted by the DOTE for their Diploma Course at the end of the Acadamic year. The candidate will have to pay the prescribed Examination fee along with filled application to the Tamil Nadu Open University. Classification of Successful Candidates To complete each course successfully the candidate is required to secure minimum 40% in Term-End Examination and 50% in practicals. Candidates who secure 60% and above in aggregate will be placed in the First Class. Those securing 50% and above but below 60% in aggregate will be placed in the Second Class. Those securing 40% and above but below 50% in aggregate will be placed in the Third / Pass Class.
